Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada - LFC Hosting today announces the launch of its new state-of-the-art network monitoring system, breaking new ground in shared web hosting availability.

They key features of LFC Hosting's innovative new network monitoring system are:

  • The ability to instantly detect failures, and notify all appropriate staff. Furthermore, all LFC departments are able to see the status of all devices and services on their network at any time. This allows LFC to more quickly identify and resolve network-related issues and provide the most accurate information to customers in real-time.

  • Over 300 new advanced test clients on LFC's Microsoft Windows servers alone, giving LFC the unique ability to continually monitor more precise metrics such as CPU usage, RAM usage, hard disk space, routine scripts, etc. on all individual servers. Using these tests, Nagios is able to notify LFC staff and take measures to automatically correct more advanced errors such as a lack of hard disk space, a saturated server, or a scheduled script that is not operating properly.

  • LFC's network monitoring and notification system is able to automatically reach all LFC staff, 24/7 anywhere in the world using a combination of SMS paging and traditional modem-initiated telephone calling in the event of a network outage or other problem.

  • Automatic correction (event handling). Using advanced logic, Nagios sends notices to custom event handling clients that LFC has developed in-house. This proprietary technology takes a series of logical steps in an attempt to correct the problem quickly and automatically. In the mean time, LFC staff is notified, allowing them to ensure that error is corrected, and look into how to prevent it from happening in the future.

  • Through direct hardware-based integration, LFC's new network monitoring and notification system also monitors their emergency backup power systems in real-time. Not only is it able to notify LFC staff when the power goes out, allowing them to ensure that their natural gas generators are activated before the UPSes run out of power, but it is also able to detect any errors or problems with the UPSes ahead of time.

Furthermore, power backup systems often fail as power outages are few and far between, and systems are not continually monitored between outages.   • Automatic deployment allows Nagios to automatic set itself up on all new servers, reducing the margin for human error and increasing efficiency within the company.

  • More valuable and reliable real-time server statistics available through LFC's proprietary Control Panel are automatically updated and generated from information gathered by Nagios in real-time.
